Doctoral and Post Doctoral Grants

The project will contribute to research on the history and economics of sovereign debt, default, money and debt restructuring, by supporting doctoral and early-postdoctoral research. This has been made possible by a generous gift from Crédit Mutuel

1. Crédit Mutuel Doctoral Prizes

A total of 10 individual grants of 5,000 USD each enabling to support PhD students doing research on the history and economics of sovereign debt. Innovative work dealing with Haiti is especially encouraged, although the call is addressed to any research embracing the key questions raised by Haiti's experience. The prize can be applied to the reimbursement of research expenses, acquisition of material, or payment of living expenditures. The first call for grants will be announced later on.

2. Crédit Mutuel Fellowships

Three PhD Fellowships, covering one year of doctoral/early post-doctoral research will be distributed, whose aim will be to support dissertation completion/job market transition. Applicants must do research covering Haiti's experience with debt from a comparative perspective. Each Fellow will contribute one article drawn from their dissertation to the closing conference. The terms of application will be announced later on.
